Ordered a few things for a desk cam setup. That way I can do some card openings, some gameplay, and maybe even some deck reviews.
Gonna grab me some Arknights Union Arena when it releases because I loooooove me some Arknights. Never tried Union Arena itself but it's a TCG so I'd love to give it a go.
Elestrals Clash backed! Really happy they picked up the Pixelborn team for that :)
As a birthday (end of the month) treat to myself I'm going to buy a whole bunch of Elestrals in one go to cut down on shipping from the US. And then I maybe will even do an unboxing stream, we'll see.
Secret Lair was the start of the slippery slope. Universes beyond was the major tipping point. Collector Boosters are the horseman of pestilence on that game.
Or more specifically. Warped the minds of card gamers into thinking they don't deserve better while also being most people's introduction to card gaming, leaving people stuck in a never ending sunken cost fallacy as more sets get released and card prices sky rocket.
The current era of MtG has ruined card gaming imo.
Card games I currently play: Lorcana, F&B, Digimon, Altered, Elestrals, Pokemon Card games I have played but don't currently: CFV, Buddyfight, Weiss Schwartz, Chaos, Victory Spark, Keyforge Card games I have played before and explicitly avoid now: MtG, YuGiOh
"I can't afford to get into another card game" Yeah because you have 10+ EDH decks that you keep spending more and more on each deck worth hundreds. Dial it back, sample the wonderful world of *literally any other TCG in existence* please. I beg you, get out there.
This is my least favourite part about Elestrals. HOWEVER they managed to do a great job of making Flagship cards to base decks around. Sure you get a similar rune base but the decks themselves are varied and run way differently. Most recent online tournament had 7 different archetypes in top 8!
