The old lies still hold immense sway over the majority—homeless are addicts, are lazy, they choose it, are racially predisposed, are opportunistic, parasitic. Anything to avoid confronting our own complicity in normalized genocide. We need a mass movement around the unequivocal right to shelter.

Like, broadly, it’s a matter of apathy, of sufficient amounts of us being willing to ignore/remain inert in the face of; so the question is, how do we make homelessness unignorable? How do we reveal apathy as complicity? I used to think changing minds quickly and at scale couldn’t be done.
