I’m not Christian and I’ve literally never felt insulted or threatened by someone wishing me a “blessed day.” What is wrong with people? This is not “creeping Christian nationalism” are you kidding? Also people groaned at this flight attendant? For real, why??

The slam against Montgomery, Alabama, which is 60% Black, by the editor-in-chief of Mother Jones at the end of this — whatever this is — was quite a plot twist. (Christian Nationalism is dangerous, but not the flight attendant in this story.) ⚓️

Student mobilization around Gaza was countered by (a) large donor mobilization against the students and (b) targeted congressional hearings. The modern American university system, after decades of defunding higher ed, is MUCH more attuned to the will of Bill Ackman et al than of the student body.

On a positive note, bigtime props to the Alabama Dept. Of Public Health for a massive vaccination campaign here at the stadium. They had players signing stuff in a tailgate tent before the game and have sponsored the video board crawl ring inside Bryant-Denny with “don’t wait vaccinate” messaging.

I mean I get it I lived in DC and have done sporting events with the president before (basketball not huge ass open football stadium). But also it would just be cool if he didn’t (an impossible ask I know). It’s totally insane to spend this much money to secure a photo op.
