As I recall he lost the election in 2020 and was convicted of 34 felony counts by "leaning in." Call that "success" if you really feel the need, I suppose.

And remains in control of the GOP and is 50-50 to return to office. You'd think insurrection and felony convictions would be enough to banish him from public life, but they clearly are not. So, yeah, his leaning in has been a very powerful tactic. Hopefully becoming less so.
