The first time I had a woman above me in the chain of command I was already a major/O-4 and she was an O-6. Shooting from the hip on diversity, in the 80s and 90s there were only non-combat requirements for women so we perhaps overpopulated admin and logistics; more opportunities for promotion

Thank you ma'am. That sounds about right for concentration of women in non-combat arms back then. The Marine Corps seems much less diverse, even now. I think we've come so far and then I stop to realize the truth. It's good to hear that the Joint Force is a bit better off.
