In Peckham, almost 70% of people live in rented accommodation. The Renters’ Rights Bill, introduced today today, will ban Section 21 ‘no-fault’ evictions for new and existing tenancies, extend Awaab’s Law into the private rented sector and end blanket bans for those on benefits or with children.

It was great to visit the Liverpool City Region and see first hand how our drive for clean energy and warm homes is impacting communities. I look forward to working with Metro Mayor Steve Rotherham and the team as we build on the fantastic work being done in the region.

Great visit with the award-winning team at Southwark #MyEnds. MyEnds puts young people and communities at the centre of solutions to end violence by giving them the support they need. I am determined to ensure young people are at the heart of our shared mission to make streets safer.

Despite the tough inheritance, this Government will do everything we can to help vulnerable families. I had a positive meeting with energy suppliers today about the steps we can take together to support those struggling to pay their bills this winter.
