For a bit growing up I was sure that my mom made up William Henry Harrison as a way to get me to zip up my jacket and wear a hat in the winter. #presidentsday
Just spitballing here -use as a review -outer layer of questions are like vocabulary to define -if you get it you proceed to the inner questions -which are higher-ordered thinking questions. My colleagues in our English department do a project with 3 dimensional Blooms Balls - my 9th graders were walking around with them one day and I was enthralled! Maybe I just like fun with folded paper and want to do more! Oh, here is a blog post I just found about Blooms Balls. #sschat
Use a Bloom Ball in your classroom to showcase what your students learned about a novel, social studies concept, science investigation, and so much more.
Looking forward to seeing what y’all come up with!
Started Wolfwalkers with the fam- set in Ireland in 1650 with the Lord Protector as the main baddy. Beautifully animated, great story telling, a bit of history and werewolves!
"Wolfwalkers," a top contender for the animated-feature Oscar, communicates its ideas on multiple levels.
Oh!! If you have any - please send them my way - I have my weekly cycle (You’re Dead to Me, Throughline, Office Ladies, Criminal, and an assorted number of NPR podcasts).
You’re Dead to Me is a wonderful podcast that combines history and comedy! I’ve absolutely used the knowledge in my AP World class this year (and others as well). I’ve had students listen to the shortened Radio edits. Highly recommend! #iteachsocialStudies#sschat
