Both of them are incredibly stupid but Musk's case is more tragic as he used to be an engineer. Now he threw everything in the bin to gain as much as possible from his right-wing worshippers and for political influence. He gave up is humanity.

Musk has shown recently that he doesn't actually care about climate change mitigation. Trump endorsement alone would be enough to prove that, but now he has shown also how stupid opinions he has about the subject.
I couldn’t believe it when Musk said, “We probably don’t want to go over 1000ppm.” Yes, Elon, given the impacts we already see at ~1.5°C, we *might* want to avoid a planet that’s 6°C over preindustrial.
