3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. This movie affected me so much as a young man in and out of love. Such a beautiful film, one that destroyed me every time--but in a good way. Its core statement was profound for me back then.

4. Big Fish. My own father died just before my 21st birthday, and he was a storyteller, one who inspired me to write. Saw this in the theater after he died and I was a sloppy, crying mess through half of it. It wasn't a direct corollary to our relationship, as I knew my dad well, but still. Fuck.
