But that said, there are some good events happening, particularly on University campus, that are more focused on climate justice issues. They just require more searching out.

- locals love the IRA, and I think a feeling that policy is as good as it gets. - the lack of world leader involvement (despite UN general assembly happening now) is quite conspicuous Feels very much like the corporate side of recent COPs.

My takeaways from the last couple of days: - program of events is a little chaotic. Anyone can create an event and have it labelled as being part of NY Climate Week, so there’s a lot of random events - lots of corporates doing corporate things (high consultancy presence, VCM day etc.)

I have sympathy for finding it hard to let go of an audience built over a long time. I found that personally to be the case. I started using Twitter in 2008, and have 10k followers, and there’s a sense of loss in walking away from it (even while Twitter now not being anything like what it was).

Most companies currently doing scenario analysis are using 3-4 degrees of warming for physical risks. Hard to see how 2.5 degrees provides any meaningful insights.

Quite a blow for those pushing offsets and carbon crediting more generally. - but probably better for the planet
