if its that little oval piece, you mayyy be able to find a new part on ebay or something like that, or you could but a "for parts" zune and replace it that way. those are typically easily fixable, like needing a new battery or screen

Aaa, sorry! I missed this somehow. Yeah, it seems like I'd need a whole new logic board, as I recall after the plastic broke the actual pins got kinda' mangled, so I might as well, at some point, seek out a for-parts Zune that's had the screen smashed. Still, I have the box too fwiw. :P
