The pleasure was all mine! And you’ve drawn me back into social media with this post!!
Some of them weird guns because the law is written to allow it. Some video cameras. Some catch bully cops. Some just bother everyone. It’s a weird mix and the only uniting element is awkwardness.
Congratulations and I love the tshirt!
Congratulations, David! It looks great.
And the production companies are interesting. McClures, of the magazine, went into silent films, but bailed out when they couldn't make money. It was the Wild West, so to speak.
It's a pity so many of these early productions are lost.
I will. You might already know this: Roosevelt wrote an introductory letter in "Wild Wing" where he advocates the camera over the gun when it comes to birding. archive.org/details/wild...
Nice one! Thanks, I'll chase this up, too. Maybe the BFI has something more on it. He had a lot of pets!
Sounds like it's the LA footage, which was also used here for Roosevelt, Friend of the Birds: www.theodorerooseveltcenter.org/Research/Dig... Really interesting post! Thanks.
I've never seen the film, is there any link to a digital copy? And I wonder if it used this archive footage of TR (www.theodorerooseveltcenter.org/Research/Dig...) or if it was original material filmed specifically for the Audubon Society?
