I never saw that show, but it can't have been a great ending because I have never heard anybody ever discussing it
I still think about it all the time, which I for certain would not do if it had ended with Tony becoming the King of the Five Families or passing the mantle to AJ or whatever
It's been over a quarter-century and I still see people casually saying out loud that The Sopranos ending was bad. No, it was incredible. No TV show has ever let us experience so viscerally, the unfairness, the suddenness, unjustness and brutality of death so intensely. It could not have been better
This book in particular had some great perspective on it, characters who wanted to get into a prestigious but high cost art school, taking seriously their drive and commitment, but also expressing pure rage at what gets extracted from kids, both financially and emotionally, to do so
I read a few YA graphic novels for the recent panel I moderated at the Brooklyn Book Fest and a topic Iām so glad to see getting addressed a lot in these is the pressure on teenagers to get into and somehow pay for a higher education, and a lot of questioning about whether thatās the right thing
Hm, hard to decide whoād win between the two, but I do know which one my son would be rooting for
Rambo doesnāt murder anyone in First Blood but he does kill two dogs, which, to my son who just watched it with me just now, is worse
Well of course cops don't do anything or even come out when your car is stolen, they're already busy!
