I’m sorry getting it wrong even before they were elected announcing that they would not be joining the single market and the customs union. Firstly, that was a huge mistake stating something that could vastly improve the economy of the UK wake up Starma we want to be back in the EU now!
Maybe it’s better not to agree to everything the EU wants before we start negotiations?
While I agree we should rejoin. It’s likely down to cost. Europeans always had higher participation in the scheme compared to Brits. Less Brits took up the scheme so it was not balanced cost wise.
"no plans" is not the same as refusing to rejoin; it is consistent with an opening negotiating position.
