Happy Tuku Whenua day. 184 years ago Apihai Te Kawau & Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei joined with government officials at Te Rerenga Oraiti (Point Britomart) to celebrate the foundation of Auckland. This momentous day was the result of Apihai offering 3000 acres for the settlement to occur.
