Although the number of kids under 5 living in Southern Ontario is falling, in most places in S. Ontario it's actually rising. How? Most of the decline is isolated to a few places: City of Toronto, York Region, Peel Region, and the City of Ottawa.
The loss seems to be mostly in cities (Windsor, Halton, Peel, Toronto, Ottawa), while gains are happening in largely rural areas. The exception to this seems to be Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo & Brantford. Perhaps affordability? The places where there is a decline, housing is NOT affordable at all.
What does Northern Ontario look like?
No one can raise a family in a 300sq foot "hotel room" masquerading as a condo, which also has no access to the overcrowded local school.
