It depends on the specifics of your contract. Read it carefully, if you're unsure you could always ask the client. If they give you permission beyond the NDA get that in writing.

However maybe one could use that text as a base for a corrupted versions you seed in the same place for the scrapers to digest.
Sadly I don't think this could work for texts as it relies on "corrupting" data in a way that is invisible to the human eye. You'd have to corrupt the words themselves in a text, immediately noticeable.
Also kinda weird that indigenous is being used only in the past tense. We still exist, all over the globe!
