My fav. writers in the related field of sensory ecology include Mike Ryan, Tom Cronin, Sonke Johnson, and Roy Caldwell. The book "Visual Ecology" (Cronin et al. 2014) is a standout.
Though I might be biased; Tom was my undergraduate vision science and marine biology prof.
