I don't think we need to extend much grace to an opinion writer who pre-wrote his (admittedly predictable for him) opinion on a time-defined event. Nor the editorial staff that allowed him to be so blatant about it.
Exactly. That extremely well-written, edited, and detailed obituary for Kris Kristofferson that was out hours after his passing is one thing... this is not that.

Fascinating article and that embedded video is just full of incredible imagery. I can't pass up making the relatively minor point however that based on the second sentence the author hilariously thinks "Sikorsky sounds Russian... I'll call those Mi-8s "Sikorskys""
