...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Florida...

St Johns River Near Astor affecting Volusia and Lake Counties.

.As of 300 AM, the Saint Johns River at Astor has slowly risen 4.74
ft, above the previous Record Stage of 4.71 ft. This river is
forecast to rise to around 4.8 ft by Friday morning, and hold around
that level into the weekend. Residents and interests along the St.
Johns River near Astor will experience this historic flooding for
several weeks and should be prepared for prolonged Major Flood
impacts.

For the St. Johns River...including Astor...Major flooding is
forecast.

Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.

The next statement will be issued this afternoon at noon EDT.

* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
This approaches the flood of record.

* WHERE...St Johns River near Astor.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 4.5 feet, Major widespread and long duration flooding
occurs, with water rescues and evacuations necessary. Most
low-lying homes become uninhabitable due to 2 to 3 feet water
depth in many areas of the community on or near the river. Water
reaches Front Street south of SR-40. Areas off of Riveredge Drive
are inaccessible. Water surrounds and enters homes on Riverview
Drive and Claire Street. Most areas near the Astor Landing
Camptround are inaccessible due to knee-deep water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 2:30 AM EDT Friday the stage was 4.7 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 2.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 2:30 AM EDT Friday was 4.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 4.8
feet this morning.
- Flood stage is 2.3 feet.
