Thanks for this. I joined Mastodon and Post (R.I.P.) when I deleted my Twitter account. Agree with your comments about the need for ānormieā users to be able to use without understanding protocols. The Mastodon/Fediverse user base seems overly enamored with the technology.

Your key point: 90% of a potential worldwide community don't care about or want to know about the underlying architecture. The Internet wouldn't exist if you had to know TCP/IP to use it. What we dummies want is a place to interact with easy-to-use tools to curate our experience.
Great read, I'm excited to see Bluesky flourish. Nostr has some cool things for sure, especially that highlighter post you linked, but the audience will continue to hold it back (like you stated) But I do recall the initial Bluesky experience not being for the faint of heart as well at the start!
