List some real democracies to help us understand

a lot of Europe is closer. US has active voter suppression and ridiculous gerrymandering with many states turned into one-party systems while their population is 50/50 on the political scale (like NC). Israel owns Palestinian land but won’t let them vote in Israeli elections.
