The real crying shame of IDW is the way they essentially killed Top Shelf by requiring all top Shelf deals take secondary (eg film/tv) rights… without giving Top Shelf money for actual advances. And then there’s their laughable track record with “creator-owned” labels… (1/2, probably)

IDW’s new payment plan for creators is exposure? If this is true that per-page budget is insanity. Also- young creators out there. Publishers who pay an insulting page rate with the assurance you’ll make great royalties are lying.
