I think they are, but I'm unfamiliar with the CANBUS additions to the wiring system. Guess I've got some digging in the service manual ahead. (Which is a nice way to spend time, at least)

Well you should be able to remove a device from the CAN bus without affecting other devices on it, so it should be OK, but with aftermarket mods who knows what they might have messed up.
