Asserting your privilege for the benefit of others is exactly what you are supposed to do when around police- it’s why I haul my middle aged white mom self to protests all the time- my presence literally makes others safer from cops and I should 100% weaponize that.

Like I purposefully stand close to the police and I always stop if they are hassling someone to watch- they know I have more social capital than other people just because of how I look
