I guess that's more of a bad date story. I always like going to the movies. I went to see the Demon Slayer theatrical release in 4k and got shaken to pieces, that sort of sucked. But it was so annoying it was sort of funny, plus I got the kids out of school early and they thought it was funny.
I went to see 'The Fountain' with some guy who was trying to date me who I didn't particularly like but my mom told me I could not do better. I really liked the movie and was feeling emotionally raw at the end, and he just sort of went "hyuck hyuck hyuck that was dumb and didn't make sense"
It's probably the same percentage of American voters that approve of trump. So not quite half, but still more than there should be. On the up(??!?)side, the percentage of the population that votes is smaller than you'd think. So it's not like half the people you see every day are into this.

My (boomer) mom came to visit me at college once freshman year, started the visit by taking me aside, expressing the concern that because of my apparently massive weight, no 'quality man would ever want me,' then expected to just have a normal visit and lunch.
My (boomer) FIL says the most disgusting shit imaginable about his granddaughters when they and their parents aren't around. My MIL asked if I was 'really happy looking like that'. This woman has been on some crazy diet or another as long as I've known her.
