And at the end, after everything they went through, Enji is happy with Hawks by his side. This is when Hawks just became the person that makes him happy and makes him smile. The one that supports him even if his life is hell, the one that is unconditional to him.
But this is when Hawks became even more important to Enji, when he became closer to Enji. Hawks became special for him. Bc this is when Enji felt Hawks' support not as a hero but as a person. Someone was supporting him as Enji, despite knowing how bad he is, Hawks was still trusting him
When Hawks told him about what he wanted, that was when Enji started to be interested in him. When Hawks trusted him the information about the villains, that's when Enji started to like, trust and care about Hawks, that's when he became important for him and wanted to be good for him.
