I do kind of hate the way tropes have become mainstream in the publishing world. Like I would rather it be a mystery to discover what “tropes” are in the book. Or… leave them all out completely and not rely on tropes, period. #moreads

That way it feels more… original? Authentic? That it is its own creation and does not rely on any standard or ruleset.
