Years past, D-16 discovered his lost memories as a Megatron Warbot, weapons of destruction built by Megatronus Prime to betray his siblings in ages past. In victory in the fight against the Council, D-16 executed them all in cold blood, turning on the other Autobots to become the first Decepticon.

Alpha Trion returned to rebuild the slain Autobots, Orion, Dion, and Ariel; and name them as the new Primes, Optimus Prime, Sentinel Prime, and Elita One. Alpha Trion then passed the Matrix of Leadership, an artifact once held by his sister Prima, to Optimus Prime as a symbol of his courage.
