I spent two weeks trying Threads & Bluesky - this looks like best option thanks to the excellent starter packs from @davidho.bsky.social@geohenning.bsky.social + others - more new connections in 10 mins than 2 weeks on the other 👍

Well — on mastodon I posted the teacher intern thing and got 40 boosts and 8 likes and a few conversations beyond that. Here I don’t think I’ve had any boosts. Im still wondering why people are in Bluesky over mastodon. Agree w you wrt threads tho

Threads —- 🚨 danger ⚠️ it’s Zuckerberg.. they’ll steal your data and they’ll have an algorithm designed to push ads or accounts that make them money. There’s not an altruistic filament in meta/facebook ‘s DNA

Threads feels more like a really efficient way to connect with brands trying to sell you something, while bsky is more likely to connect you to, you know, people.

Curious to know what you dislike about Threads. I don't use it much because only a couple people I care about are on that platform. But I keep hearing that it's more popular than Bluesky.

I think original goal of the starter packs was to lure people here, but in practice their best use is to quickly onboard folks on a topic with a curated group of people who will bring interesting stuff into your feed. Really appreciate the folks who took time to put together a couple of great ones.
