no, there isn't. if you can't see a path toward something being achievable -- and admit that the version of events you're describing is "made up" -- then that is not a future, definitionally. it's a fantasy

RIP to my purdy Xbox controller with the nice colours and fancy grips... the shoulder button finally gave out completely after it first went clunk over a year ago.

A custom-colour Xbox controller in mint green and dark purple.

Guinan: What's wrong with him? La Forge: Data? He's malfunctioning about not having human emotions. Data: My cognitive parameters are stuck in a negative subroutine, and my motivational module is offline. Troi: I don't sense anything. Close up on Data looking very sad. Fade to commercial. #trek

I highly agree with this. Community has got to be an active process, prescriptive even. People need to know what is and isn't welcome and some of them will change their ways in order to stick around (to a certain extent), like role modelling, and others will get lost.

One bit of advice I'd give indie devs is to approach authoritatively delivered "this is the way" advice with caution and poke it with a stick. Listen, but then critically evaluate if it makes sense for you.

Hatsune Miku's Cat Is that a thing? Have we done that one yet?

A sketchy line drawing illustration Schrodinger's Cat, the thought experiment. Looks like it was from a text book or something. The illustration has "Hatsune Miku's Cat" pasted across the top of it, in Impact font.

(Because Erwin Schrodinger was a horrific predator, and not nearly as accomplished in quantum physics as Miku.)
