Interesting additional reporting from the Sports Business Journal. The duration and figure coincides with past reporting from Zarian, Meltzer et Al. I believe this is the first time we hear about WBD having an equity stake in AEW, outside of rumors and speculation. 🤼
The Sports Business Journal also said something interesting: "WBD also keeps its equity stake in AEW, but the size of it was not disclosed." That's something Brandon Thurston has speculated on for years. Why, if WBD owns a stake, did they allow AEW to negotiate with others?
