If it was out of character as they claim the trio would have been so distraught at what they did the first night that the second night wouldn't have happened. The fact they followed up the two rapes with another the next day tells us all what their character truly is.

They are quite correct to seek the opinion of priests. Quite a few have intimate, personal knowledge and experience of many sorts of abuse. It's quite clear also that many of these abusers work as a team, protecting, facilitating and connected to other abusers.
