I love Tracy Chapman. I hate that it took a white male to get her the recognition she deserved decades ago. I’m happy that said white male at least promotes Tracy any chance he gets. I’m not taking a dig at Luke. Society, you’re suspect!

Her debut album was #1 in the US and many other countries. It went 6x platinum. She also has 1x and 5x platinum selling albums. She’s received plenty of recognition on her own.

People keep saying this but Tracy Chapman won was nominated for three Grammys for that song and won one, it was a top ten single in multiple countries and the album it came from also won a Grammy and is six times platinum. Society is certainly suspect about queer Black women but she was *massive*
