It’s a bit weird to realize that, but I do, and I feel happier for being able to recognize and appreciate that kind of power over myself, autonomy like that. I’m looking forward to what comes of that, now that I feel motivated and joyful about drawing cartoons again.

So it’ll take a bit to figure out what balance works right, as far as my work obligations, my creative time, and my leisure time… especially since I haven’t had the freedom over the past 20 years to really decide that for myself!

Having a full work schedule during the day will mean less time per week I can use to focus on art, but it’ll also mean being able to spend that time on more of my own work, which is what I’ve wanted all along.

I’ve been a bit quiet, partly because I now work full time again and am trying to see how time for art will fit into my schedule, especially as I try to finish up these last few paid projects. It’s a lot of adaptation after 18 months!

Sitting down and responding to folks about the YCH and all tomorrow, p plus a few other plans for the weeks ahead.
