Las Cruces is pretty, I always liked going to Alamogordo more though. I remember the University of New Mexico used to have luncheons at the space museum every now and again. Met some astronauts there, but didn't have anything to say because all my questions would be "how was the moon?"
I sometimes miss it! I don't miss the forever drive to actually get anywhere outside of that corner of the region. It was like 8+ hours to Dallas and that was all on I10
I moved up from El Paso a little over a decade ago now, but El Paso and Southern NM were nice.
Gotta go to Alamogordo
