The current coalition: Historically, our biggest party by far, part of near every coalition, was the corrupt protectionist right Independence Party. They're down to 12% One more of the "Big 4", the rural protectionist right Progress Party, is down to 5% Another, the protectionist Left Greens, 3%.

These sorts of numbers would have been previously unthinkable. Of the "Big Four", only Samfylkingin (Social Democrats), who aren't in the coalition, remain strong. A lot of the right has jumped to Miðflokkurinn (the "Middle Party) - populist, protectionist, mildly racist.
