A lot of leftists (especially Marxists)treat their ideology like religion. They treat Marx like a prophet, “theory” like scripture, “The Revolution” like the Rapture. I say this as someone who grew up in an evangelical environment and finds it scarily similar.
Imagine not only knowing you are being put to death for a murder you didn’t commit, but also knowing that the government knows you didn’t do it but is going to kill you anyway.
We can’t let Trump win for two very important reasons: 1) The GOP is openly planning a fascist takeover of the US should Trump win. 2) It will be absolutely hilarious to see Trump lose a 2nd time.

The funny thing about the conservative reaction to the guilty verdict is that everyone knows that in a literal sense he’s guilty. You don’t see Trump supporters claiming he didn’t do it. They genuinely believe that holding Trump accountable for anything is unjust.
It’s kind of a miracle Americans didn’t retain the servant in blackface when they adapted Sinterklaas into Santa Claus. Santa Claus was popularized around the same time as minstrel shows yet somehow that aspect was completely avoided.
