Surge pricing can fuck all the way off. AI based surge pricing which we already know is going to do a racism can find someplace further off to which to fuck. I’m done shopping at Kroger.
The very idea that they are going to charge different people, different prices for the same product, based on what their face looks like, seems like a prima facie argument for racial discrimination.

note that you can train an AI to be MORE racist than cops, such as facial recognition software that mis-identifies Brown people, AND you can train AI to be LESS racist, such as software that approves loans for minorities more often than human loan officers.
"Surge pricing" = "Raise our high prices when we can and go back to our ordinary high prices when we can't" and "Yes, this really is a noncompetitive market but we should still merge anyway". The likelihood that it will be used to enable racist corporate behavior is the diarrhea sauce on the sundae.
