Annual pilgrimage to Holy Island began with a diversionary twitch. Had hoped it would be for Pale-legged Leaf Warbler but alas we were a day late. Change of route and we enjoyed the Two-barred Greenish at this lovely valley near Whitby. Slow off the mark but a fine British tick.😁
Big day for Chiffs in #dorsetbirds 138 ringed at Lytchett Bay, 106 in Piddle flood plane, and a batch as yet unannounced at Longham Lakes. 😮
How many Rock Pipits so far Pete? Gearing up tomorrow for ours due very soon at Lytchett 🤞
Silverlake and area (Dorchester) really starting to show its potential for the autumn now. Available this morning were Curlew Sand, Wood Sand, 2 Green Sand, 4+ Common Sand, 10+ Ringed Plover, 2 Dunlin, 50+ Med Gull and the ever present GWE. The first two were both new species of wader for me here.
Most of you will probably have bought this? If not, buy them now. An incredible publication. The new standard. #UKBirding
you have that right - the Dorset birds hashtag will also appear inside the ukbirding feed, so no need to use both tags (if it's working as it should)
If I have got this right it seems that Blue Sky users who are Dorset birders, or those birders visiting Dorset, would benefit our local birding community by adding both #UKbirding#Dorsetbirds to our posts where relevant. Searching these is easy. Just long press on the hashtag and hey presto 😁
Pretty decent days seawatching at Estaca de Bares yesterday. Really need to get back there....ebird.org/checklist/S192643199
