Pet peeve: everyone and their mother including the Macuahuitl as a wildly atypical “sword.” Rather than the coolest of many spiked/studden/flanged club weapons. GIVE ME CLUB WEILDERS AS AN ARCHETYPE DANGIT

FFT gets this right by making clubs/flails more or less unique to the Squire class But they fumble it by not including the macuahuitl as one of those clubs/flails

I'm going to be honest I think a decent number of weird weapon classifications in games where characters are fully animated in combat are based on which existing attack animation type the devs think the weapon looks nicest with, haha
