I'm trying to stay impartial online but openly calling for a repeat of Auschwitz and killing your own people out of fear they might be the enemy... I'm concerned that right wing politicians are capitalizing on terrorist acts to advance harmful policies. USA did it for years after 9/11.

My child no longer gets to see representation in school that matches herself or her family. Banning LGBTQIA+ representation in schools is dangerous and further isolates children at formative periods in their development.
Which is ironic considering how conservative lots of academia is. Yet apparently it's not enough - the small minority of professors willing to speak out in support of progressive causes is enough of a threat that they want to shut the whole thing down.
It's starting to become obvious how much power politicians have over public universities and how much power wealthy donors have over private universities. Freedom of speech? Academic freedom? It's teetering on the edge, about to give way to right-wing political demands.
