Funny, I thought it would have been the portrayal of European colonialism and imperialism in Kuang's "Babel" that might have raised the hackles of white folks. I think the Chinese (and many others around the world) are well aware of these matters and have been since the Opium Wars.
This is how soul is sold to the lowest bidder. It starts with flattery and good food. Then invitation to a trip to see some fancy things and offer of investment. Then comes hints of rules and subtle threat of withholding funds. Maybe use of kompromat. At the end, you are their bitch forever.
Sad, but no surprises. If Disney takes a knee, you can best believe others will to as well.
