Because long term is genuinely unknown. 30 years ago no one would have predicted the iPhone and a world where teenagers spent their entire lives looking at self produced content. And don’t get be started on the birth rate!

Not sure what you mean by “Oh dear” that’s a profound quotation by Keynes, in the long run you have zero idea what the constitutional or economic position of any state would be, nor would you have any tangible experience of it .

And Fife can’t? Is Fife too wee, too poor, too stupid?

Yes. So what’s your case for independence for Scotland and not Fife?

Yes as a nation yes. But most countries are multi-national. So I really don’t see what’s normal about a single nation country? France, Germany, Norway, Italy, UK, all multi-national countries, all perfectly normal.

Yeah. OK. But what definition of country are you using? What is now the Republic of Ireland was never a country until it became independent?

OK, so your application of “WE” just applies to the Borders established by the Treaty of York by two feudal lords. Why not apply “WE” to Fife?

Sorry what definition of country are you using? A country is surely a state that is a UN member, such as the Republic of Ireland. How then is Scotland a country? Unless you mean country as a patch of land in which case that definition can apply to Fife.

The Scottish Government are one of the biggest opponents of nodal pricing. What do you think happens to Scottish renewables if you cut their prices and they can’t make a profit?

The tautology is surely that all countries have sovereignty over their country. So any country is normal, ergo independence is normal. The UK is normal, Germany is normal, the Republic of Ireland is normal, aren’t they?
