You may not have heard, but elections are basically won by the campaign that attracts the most voters. Not the most ideologically pure voters, not the voters who have never disagreed with the party, not the voters who have voted for that party since birth … Just the most voters. You need numbers.

Seeing a lot of blowback to this piece. You don’t have to embrace French’s politics or forgive him for anything he’s done wrong … but if he wants to cross the aisle and vote for our candidate and try to persuade other Republicans to do so, Sweet Jesus, let him do that work.
