I saw a thing back on Xwitter saying that it's a good thing something as offbeat but successful as TMNT was made when it was, because if it debuted today it'd be completely ignored in favor of something else more established.
There’s definitely a difference between “I liked this thing when I was your age maybe you’ll like it too” and trying to force your offspring to be a clone of you. I feel like that’s a fairly recent phenomena too, I think GenX was the first gen to really define ourselves by the media we like.
