And, to be honest, I find such hashtags --due to the nature of algorithmic social media-- often turn into dick measuring contests, rather than being an actual fun drawing exercise. Just look at the number of fully rendered colour pieces that turn up in the Inktober hashtag on other platforms.
That's why I decided to limit myself to ten minute sketches of monsters this year. I get my reference ready, pick up the pencil, start my timer, and what's done is what's done at the end.

It's genuinely sad to hear that people ended up deviating the purpose of Inktober. I still enjoy taking up this challenge because it really helped me improve my art and I have fun doing it, so I'm a bit gutted to see how it turned out today.
