We're basically at the point where if this behavior doesn't lead to a backlash, nothing will.

We're getting there. I was half kidding a month or two ago about it getting to the point where we were tossing the N slur around willy nilly. We're here and it won't be the last and it's only going to go further and further up the chain. We're into sewer level racism as they flail and panic.

I don't even know if you can call it a decline. In 1964, Republicans physically assaulted Black delegates at the RNC for daring to oppose Goldwater's nomination. Told them to "know their place". And we haven't voted for them in significant number since. It's EXACTLY what the modern GOP would do.

Trump was the turning point, he made it acceptable to behave this way so openly.
