I get that, even under the same creatives, characters change and grow and that a jump from one medium to another (let alone from one voice over actor to a live-action actor) is going to change the character, but it's one thing to know something rationally but to understand something else emotionally

My take away is “15 years of isolation and guilt changes a person” and that could be an explaination. But it’s not the fun or satisfying “more of the character I love” my friends wanted.
