✨New paper alert!✨ So pleased to see this co-produced paper out in the world, which used qualitative participatory methods to explore young people's attitudes towards seeking mental health information online. Read the paper (for free!) here: doi.org/10.1111/papt...

I had such a wonderful day yesterday at the 2024 Incubator for Mental Health Research Gathering! Nothing inspires me more than being in a room full of early career mental health researchers and realising that the future of the field looks so bright 🤩 #PsychSciSky

📢 New Publication Alert! Reflection over compliance: Critiquing mandatory data sharing policies for qualitative research. doi.org/10.1177/1359...@nhigsonsweeney.bsky.social ! Explores implications of mandatory raw data sharing for qualitative researchers in psychology & beyond!

An infographic summarising the findings of the paper. A blue background, each point is represented in a white cloud.
 Text reads as follows.
-What is mandatory inclusion of raw data (MIRD)? MIRD is a model of data sharing where journals expect the raw data supporting an article to be publicly available and accessible.
-What are some of the issues with MIRD for qual research? Ambiguous term. What is raw data in qualitative research, audio recordings, with identifiable data?
-How do we ensure fully informed consent of data sharing with vulnerable participants? And will this reduce sample diversity?
-What are the solutions? Utilise data availability statements for reflexivity, transparency and open science. Publishing qual data under an appropriate licence, with clear conditions for reuse. Coproduce journal guidelines with qual researchers
